With the proceeds the Mayor and aldermen of the City of Lincoln were to buy an estate in Bardney, seven miles from Lincoln, and with the residue purchase other lands near Lincoln from which the poor in the two parishes of St. Swithin and Eastgate will benefit by fifty pounds a year.
