Westminster: Nichols and Sons, First edition, folio (380 x 270 mm), x, 210, [2], xxxvipp., title in red and black, 8 mounted albumen prints (145 x 200 mm) by John Cruttenden of Maidstone, images faded at edges, lithographic plan hand-coloured outline, double-page pedigree and double-page facsimile letter, fore-edge of frontispiece and title page neatly strengthened, neat repair to inner margin of leaf G3 marbled endpapers, attractively rebound in the style of a late eighteen-century panelled calf binding, gilt, with red and black morocco labels to spine. Leeds Castle was the country seat of Charles Wykeham Martin (1801-1870), an English Conservative Party politician who sat in the House of Commons in three periods between 1841 and 1870.
