Green & Son's 'Cranmer' paper, 5 original marbled samples tipped in, concertina style, in original cloth case, printed title label to spine. Introduction—"Marbling was a trade secret until the mid-19th century. Much has been written about it since, but nothing has appeared about the Leicestershire marbling industry, based on the old town of Loughborough. Some quite unusual patters were devised amongst the Loughborough master marblers. A selection of these follows, with their traditional names." Those names being: Large Radmoor, Old Dalby, Widmerpool Spot, Rutland Shell & Nonpantain.
