Lemanager of Bushey, Herts, some light age-toning to text, original publishers blue cloth, bevelled boards, rebacked with original spine laid-down. A record of the house and its owners, with photographic views of the house and grounds. Many historic owners including Cardinal Wolsey and the Duke of Monmouth whose widow was granted it by James the 2nd in compensation for his harsh treatment of her. Sold by the duchess to Benjamin Styles who was related to the sub Governor of the South Sea Company and who made an enormous fortune out of the South Sea Bubble. Styles employed Giacomo Leoni to create an ostentatious Italianate palazzo. It was subsequently owned by the Grovsvenor family but has for many years housed a golf club.
