London: Published by William Miller, Folio (330 x 245 mm), [12], 183, [1]pp., with list of subscribers, frontispiece and 30 etched plates, 12 engraved vignettes, some occasional foxing but generally clean, handsome contemporary Russia, boards with triple fillet diamond at centre surrounded by multiple gilt fillet borders, central gilt floral tool to outer four edges, tooled turn-ins, neatly rebacked with original spine laid-down, all edges gilt. The work includes a good account of nearly every important house in the neighbourhood such as Knole and Penshurst and also some of lesser importance. Provenance: Armorial bookplate of John Hutton of Marske (1774-1841); gilt red morocco label of Eric Sexton; the library of Josceline Grove, with bookplate and their typed catalogue description pasted to front endpapers.
