"Prichard was the first English psychiatrist who separated from the omnibus 'insanity' a 'new' group of mental disorders which he called 'moral insanity' and so added a new term to psychiatric nosography." - Hunter and MacAlpine. *****He gave a brief description of it in an article in the 'Cyclopedia of Practical Medicine' edited by J. Forbes, London, 1833-5, 11, p.12. This was afterwards enlarged into this famous 'Treatise on Insanity.', first published in London in 1835.
