LINCOLNSHIRE INDENTURE.. Indenture dated 30 April 17 James I (1619) between (1) John Hewerdine the older of Skillington, Lincs, yeoman, and (2) Richard Howett of Skillington, yeoman, witnesseth that (1), in consideration of the marriage solemnised and had between (2)and Ann Hewerdine daughter of (1), hath granted aliened bargained and sold to (2) All that cottage or tenement in Skillington and ten sheep commons to be had within the fields of Skillington now of late in the tenure of Rowland Peelfoote and all the lands meadows pastures etc pertaining to the said cottage lying in the fields of Skillington as butted and bounded in the schedule annexed hereunto, to have and to hold to (2) his heirs and assigns, to the uses of (2), with usual covenants.1649

 2 sheets of parchment, indenture approx 49cm x 24cm, schedule approx 19cm x 22cm folded at bottom, signed by mark of John Hewerdine (seal missing). Schedule refers to lands and meadows in North Field, Milne Field and West Field all described with named abuttals including Stokegate, Colsterworthgate and Stone meadow at the new pitt. Deed endorsed with livery of seisin witnessed by John Parker, William Denton and Thomas Richardson.
