This finely illustrated work embodies the results of a series of experiments upon the nutritive qualities of grasses. They were conducted by Sinclair, who was for 17 years head gardener at Woburn Abbey, under the direction of John Russell, 6th Duke of Bedford and Sir Humphrey Davy.
