All published of this important work in which Hunter defended his priority in the discovery of the lymphatic vessels against the claims of Alexander Monro (Secundus). Hunter made his discovery about the lymphatic vessels in 1746, and while Monro claimed priority his observations were not published until 1755. Wellcome III, p.319.
