London: Printed by John Richardson, First edition, 4to (239 x 190 mm), 76pp., with half-title, recent calf-backed marbled boards, leather spine label lettered in gilt. James Carrick Moore (1763-1834) became an army medical officer and set up a surgical practice in London. He was a supporter of Edward Jenner, the pioneer of smallpox vaccination. Provenance: Formerly in the library of the Birmingham Medical Institute with a faint neat ink stamp to margin of title. Wellcome IV, p.167.
