Edinburgh: Printed for David Duncan, First edition, small 8vo, 76pp., text age-toned, corners dog-eared, old paper wrappers, upper cover with title label in Ms. The first edition of a rare sermon by Ralph Erskine (1685-1752). After studying at Edinburgh, Erskine was ordained as Assistant Minister of the Gospel at Dunfermline, later succeeding as Minister of Dunfermline Abbey in 1716. His later career say him follow his somewhat better known brother Ebenezer out of the established Church of Scotland in 1737 into a newly formed Associate Presbytery. Not listed on ESTC.
