Anna Seward 1742-1809 was an English poet, often called the Swan of Lichfield. She benefited from her father's progressive views on female education. Provenance: Small armorial on the boards Impiger et Fidus - family of David Constable and signed by the publisher Archibald Constable, Edinburgh on the endpaper.
