Easton, First edition, 4to (285 x 225 mm), 10, xxxviii, 93 [i.e. 117]pp., p. 117 misnumbered 93, with half-title and a list of subscribers, 25 engraved plates (some lightly spotted), cont. calf calf, marbled boards, rebacked with orig. spine laid-down, red leather label. Thomas Herbert, 8th Earl of Pembroke (1664-1732) formed a celebrated collection of classical sculpture. Kennedy's description of his antiquities "is one of the few accounts which gives the principles upon which a collector formed his collection".—Herrman. Herrmann, The English as Collectors. p. 96.
